You got some very nice warm light and colors, Allen. I really like the first image with the down-wing pose and where the egret is in the frame… I think the it is a little too low in the frame in the second image. Positioning it higher would make for a nice composition.

Your usual wonderful captures. The hint of reeds suggests a very nice setting. Magical color and lovely detail in the “whites”. It’s a small point but I think you could clone or crop the darker areas right at the top edge on the first one.

Sweet light! And the whites look great. I like the downward wing position in the first and the reeds in the water in the second.

Hi Allen
Nice looking Snowy Egrets, with good eye contact and feather detail. I think the look of the worm morning sun, but maybe toned down some.

Interesting effect in these, Allen. With that yellowish background my eyes are getting confused over whether the egret is in the foreground or you’re shooting through yellow vegetation. In either case, a couple of fine images.

You caught beautiful light for these snowies. The yellowish tint is intriguing. Like Dennis, I’m unsure if it’s the soft lighting causing the tint, or yellow-ish grasses and reeds you’re shooting through.
Very nice images!

Thank you for the comments everyone!
The yellowish tint is from early morning light. I was shooting the egret unobstructed. I think part of the effect is the reeds that line the far side of the pond reflecting on the water.

A little late to the party. Both images are lovely.

I’m a big fan of upward wings in the second but prefer the BG of the first…maybe slightly cropped (or cloned) to elimate the smudge of dark at the top.

The light is beautiful and the whites are handled so well.
