Is there anything cooler than the opportunity to shoot a striking, white bird against a dark background?! These guys only seem to occasionally spread their plumage like this. VERY cool score.

Allen, I love everything about this shot! That head position and the plumage spread just really makes this shot special.

Agree with Shirley. Great pose. Also a nice perch. Reminds me of The Lion King.

Allen, this is a fine pose of the Snowy. Good choice of wording in your edit, as the orange lores and feet are also part of their breedng colors. The square framing works really well for the posture.

Awesome pose, composition and background. Wonderful presentation of this egret.

This is great. Tack sharp, whites are perfect, and in beautiful breeding plumage. The perch, pose, and BG are nice, too. No nits from me here.

Wonderful perch, background and display, Allen. Amazing that there weren’t any birds in the background.
