Costa Rica
Also known as the “blue jeans dart frog” - for obvious reasons!
Very poisonous - it eats caustic ants and accumulates their poison in it’s skin.
Eagle-eyed guides found us several frogs hiding among the dense forest

Sandy: From one color junkie to another, wow!! What a thoroughly interesting critter so superbly captured. The pose looks defiant but I surmise it’s not that big. Of course if you don’t fear being eaten then I guess you can be a bit haughty. Most excellent. >=))>

I should have mentioned that these - and most - dart frogs are less than an inch long.

Excellent in every way, Sandy. I can see how it got it name. The dark BG makes him pop out nicely, and his perch is just perfect.
