The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

It’s been a while since I posted here and thought I should get more active with NPN. This photo was taken just before the rise of the supermoon on September 17, 2024 which was coincident with the sunset to the west. Shortly after exposure, the moon rose over the pine trees at the top of the dunes. I thought the reflection of the sunset in the clouds and the additional reflection of the clouds in the pond communicated a peaceful and calm feeling.

The image was taken along the shoreline of Lake Michigan.

Specific Feedback

I’d appreciate comments on overall composition and color handling - there is a temptation to oversaturate at times, but I wanted to emphasize the natural colors that I observed.

Hey Robert,
You are so right about this scene having a peaceful vibe as it does the same for me. The color palette works rather nicely and the reflected color in the water makes for another interesting element in the image. My only suggestion would be a little crop from the top to just above the clouds. Very nicely done!
