Image Description

Male Eastern Bluebird and one of his fledglings. Both the male and female feed their offspring for several weeks after they have fledged.

Technical Details

Camera settings: 310mm, f5.6, 1/1250 sec, ISO 3200. Post processed in Adobe LR and PS. Basic edits including noise reduction and cropping.

Hi Steven. I like this image. The composition works nicely and the juvenile is very sharp with the adult sharp enough to make the image work. The landing pose of the adult is great. Nice work.

Great interaction Steven. The sharpness of the juvenile makes the image for me. I’d prefer seeing these on a natural perch but they land where they will. Intriguing image.

While I am not a fan of Unnatural perches, The sharpness and clarity of the plumage in both of these birds and the action are what make the picture. Good job.

David, thank you for your comments. I agree, I’m not a fan of manmade perches either, but sometimes you have to take what you get.
