About This Image

I seem to focus (no pun intended) on tiny things, and this droplet caught my attention.

Feedback Requested

Do the lines, colors, and composition work here? Does the image evoke a mood in you, the viewer? Is it simplistic, or just enough? Is the crop too generous?

Gary: I love shallow DOF work and drops so this is a double treat for me. I like all the lines except the pink one in the URC which is an eye magnet for me. Making it go away and cropping just a bit tighter from the right side boosts this for me. Back to you. >=))>

Gary, the lines and colors work very well in my opinion. I like what @Bill_Fach did. Still I would love to see the water drop larger so that I can enjoy it more, but that’s just me. I wouldn’t want to give up the lovely colors of the BG to get in closer. Getting waterdrops HH is quite the challenge I would think, but from what I can see it is sharp. Well done!

Hi Gary! I think this image is gorgeous. To me, the liens and colors are excellent. I like the composition, especially with the crop @Bill_Fach demonstrated. Well done!

Gary, the lines and colors are highlighted well by that single drop. I like how much attention it gets even as is so small. I could see a bigger crop from the right leaving only the purple background although both crops move the drop off center.

Gary this is a wonderful image. I love the flowing lines of the grasses with that dramatic purple background. And the pièce de résistance is the droplet of water. Really nice job.

@Bill_Fach Thank you. While I rather like the pink, and the negative space, in truth it doesn’t add anything, and is somewhat distracting. Thanks for sharing your perspective!

@Shirley_Freeman @Steve_Kennedy @Mark_Seaver @alice thank you for taking the time to comment. Sometimes (maybe it’s just me) we get too close to an image and imagine how others will react; I appreciate the feedback which affirms that I’m on the right track.

I have added a modified version. First step was to tame the pink, and I was able to bring it more inline with the purple. I also removed the single blade of grass, which is also distracting.

I have yet another version that is a crop (from the UR), and which places the droplet on the UR power point. It’s a different image, however.

The revision looks excellent. The color palette is really appealing because it’s unusual and the colors are naturally harmonious. The drop, as noted by many above, is a nice touch. The softness and the crisp lines of the grass is a terrific contrast.

Gary,

This popped for me the very first time I viewed it - only sorry I hadn’t commented sooner.

What a fantastic image! I LOVE the revision and glad I came back to see this. I especially appreciate the color adjustment on the right getting more in line with the pink/purple hues.

No further suggestions from me, only that I love this! Kudos!
