This is from the Florada trip. We were walking along an inlet when I spotted the Sandpiper. Thank you for stopping by.

This is a very engaging image, Peter. I love the low point of view and the way you framed the sandpiper right on the top of the “ridge”. the image may well be level, but I think you might want just a touch of counterclockwise rotation. I’d also look at bringing both sides in a bit. I love the feather sticking up on the left, but I think cropping to just outside it would get rid of the rather unsightly blob on the far left and there’s a natural break point between debris blobs just a bit in on the right that looks like it would make a good break point.
I always love it when they stand so nonchalantly on one leg.
I love the idea of it standing there , interested in the feather. The blob , to me , is just part of the natural debris. What I would expect wandering on the beach. This also argues that butt shots can be beautiful. Great shot.
Cool beach scene, Peter. I was initially drawn to the low, eye-level view and it makes you wonder what’s over the ridge and what’s he looking at. I like the pose with the slight head turn. I’m okay with all that beach debris; adds a sense of place. I’m not sure, but this looks more like a plover.
Peter, this is a really nice capture. Like others, I love the eye left view. It was nice that he was on a ridge, making the oof BG even better. That feather sticking up is icing on the cake.
