Without the headline, I’m not sure I would have been able to guess what this was. Now that I’ve opened this up, I find it an exceptional intimate image. I love the crosseyed eyes with the little sprig of hair delineating them. I’g glad you didn’t try and do a focus stack. This image is about the face and if focus stacked this would be a very busy and complicated image. He almost has the look of a coconut with eyes. OK, I’m admittedly grasping here or my mind is wandering but I do see it. :)). Funny read up too. I love it and I think you got the slightly scary feel you were looking for. Thanks for posting this and thanks for being such a giving contributor. You’ve certainly jumped right in here at NPN.
Your daughter has a very interesting pet. The comp is fine and you would not know this is a pet with the close-up comp. The bright diagonal above the spider’s head distracts my eyes a bit and you could burn or edit it out to make it less obvious. Otherwise, I think that you got the focus where it needs to be and its a wonderfully scary comp for sure…Jim
Huw: Now that’s a face only a mother could love and everyone else would fear. I’ll be lazy and just ditto @Jim_Zablotny. Really good job on the comp and capture. Was there glass between you and Tempi? Inquiring minds want to know. >=))>
