When the Beartooth Highway first opens in (usually) early June there’s still lots of snow in the high country. For me, that makes going black and white a prime approach. This is a look at the bear’s tooth (left of center) that give the area and the mountains their name. While it’s clearly not the tallest peak in the area, it is quite distinctive.

The high contrast makes the cloud shadows quite dark, but I have yet to take this drive and not have quite a few clouds.

A classic monochrome mountain view, and the tooth is very evident. I guess I agree that a crop from the left could work, but I don’t feel strongly about it
Hi Mark,
This scene was made for B&W and you did it proud. The bear’s tooth is certainly evident and is a prominent feature in this mountain country landscape. I too could see a crop from the left due to that bright snow; or maybe tone it down just a touch. I also like the clouds as they add some drama to the scene. Very nicely done.
