The Eye of Sauron

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

It may be a bit of a stretch, but when the clouds opened up just enough to cast the last bit of warm light on Mt. Lafayette, my initial thought was the eye of Sauron from The Lord of The Rings. The dark ominous clouds over the mountain were the finishing touch; at least for me. Over the years I have been fortunate to witness and capture numerous wonderful sunsets from the aptly named Sunset Hill in Sugar Hill, NH.

Specific Feedback

What is your initial thought? Do you see the eye or is it just me?

Technical Details

Nikon Z7, Nikon 24-200, f 11 @ 1/6 sec, ISO 200, cable release & tripod.

Ed, this is so special to me. Also because I don’t know very much about mountains . The highest near me is maybe 54meters. Yes it looks like in your description and also a bit mysterious . Love it !!
