The field

Spending some time in a field of tall grass around trees. The colors were vivid. 9 am CST on a sunny morning.

Specific Feedback Requested

I would like to know if the background balances well the branch. I wonder if the background alone could have been the picture. I like the contrasting elements.

Nice use of negative space Marie. The golden colors are so rich and endemic of fall photography. A scroll crop eliminating the bottom brightest background is helpful, but it also shows that you have some headroom in the whites of the branches. If you have Photoshop you could have a go at blurring the background more to emphasize the contrasting clarity and texture of the branches. I’d also consider cropping the left most branchlet that is quite bright and eye-catching. Do you know what kind of tree this is? It looks so soft and larchlike, but I don’t think it is a larch.
