The Floridian Bard

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I was actually cruising around some local roads hoping to run into some “wildlife”. Saw something fly across and stopped a few feet ahead walked back to find this Barred owl. It kept flying from one tree to the other allowing me some good looks

Specific Feedback

I am not looking for anything in particular but I’m sure folks will have some suggestions

Technical Details

I had only my 800mm lens mounted on my Z9 and literally had to back off a lot - fortunate not to have clipped anything here ( plenty of those too  )
Fairly cloudy and so had to use a high ISO of 5000 - thank God for some great noise reduction software ( Denoise in LR for this one )
F 6.3 1/1000 sec

Great look at the owl with a nice pose, the wing showing, and framed by the branch.

Wonderful subject, pose and light! No suggestions! (Well, maybe print, frame and hang!)

Karl, a sweet look at this owl. Nice pose and wonderful eyes!
A really nice image…

Very nice pose, Karl. I like the slightly lifted wing and the great look at the feet. The tree branches frame it nicely.

HI Karl, nice head on look from the owl. Those talons are something else. Nice image.

Many thanks for your valued observations @Dennis_Plank , @Allen_Sparks , @SandyR-B , @Diane_Miller and @Allen_Brooks
Thankful for the opportunity I got in the pure wild! Happy Holidays !

I like this pose a lot. Nice touch with the slightly open wing, and that it’s looking right at you. No nits from me. Well done.
