His expression is fantastic! Beautiful background. I’m seeing a bunch of small white areas, not sure what they are? I’m also wondering if a little more open space on the right of the tree would help, just so it is not so tight to the side of the frame (if you have it).

Great capture.

Thanks Elizabeth. The Owl was shaking water droplets off its feathers. I will try and see if I can reprocess with more space on the right of the tree. Thanks for your feedback.

Superb detail in the owl and the expression is just wonderful, Sandipan. An alternative on the tree might be to crop a bit further so there’s no space to the right of the tree. NO matter how you crop it this is one special image.

Thanks Dennis for the feedback

Sweet!
Priceless expression.
Fine detail and perch, and soft colours. I agree a little more room on the right, so the tree isn’t touching the edge of the frame, would be a benefit. It could also use some straightening.
Very exceptional image! Well-done.

Wonderful!! I can also see, along with adding more on the right, taking a little off the left. The owl is so stunning it can hold its own a little off-center and the very interesting tree balances the visual weight. A fantastic capture!!

Great expression on the bird - that is quite a pose. The water drops add another element of interest. Fine details. I’d try both cropping options suggested to see what you think. To me, the bird is angled ever so slightly towards to the left so I would try the crop of taking more into the right leaving no space at all there. A fine image regardless of the cropping choice.

Hi Sandipan, thanks for giving us three cropping choices to look at. I believe my preference is the second rework with no extra space on the right. The crop gives an intimate view of the owl with framing on the right. I’m sure others will have different points of view however. Really fine image regardless of crop choice.

Hi Allen, Diane, Sandy, Dennis and Elizabeth,
I tried with different crop choices which are posted here. Many thanks for your feedback.

Hi Allen, Glad you liked the second crop. Really appreciate your feedback.

HI Sandipan. I do like the second version best. To my eye the blank space on the right of the tree just feels odd.

My vote is for the third, for the distribution of visual weight. The tree itself is so interesting that to me it deserves a full presentation, and then… there is THAT OWL!!!

The frustrating thing about a wonderful image is that there can be different ways to present it that are all wonderful! All these are winners!

There are all excellent. I think I would vote for the 3rd just so there is not a large open space on the left, but I don’t think you could go wrong with any of them.

So we gotta choose?! I don’t see a difference between #1 and #3. (?)
These are all excellent, but I think I prefer the second one. There doesn’t seem to be a need for more BG behind the tree on the right.
Again, a marvelous image!

What a cool subject, and expression! The only thing I would consider is to maybe crop it to a portrait ratio. Great catch.
