The huffing puffing monster-edit

Thank you for your feedback. I tried to place a mask on the darken area. I hope it is better now. I used mostly negative dehaze and played with the lights and darks.

Image Description

I love this topic as I humanize shapes everywhere. That is how I operate. I imagine stories and conversations between shapes. I wanted to know if others see the same.

Specific Feedback

All feedback is welcome but especially about the concept and the story.

Tamar, my first reaction is indeed that of a monster puffing some steam. It’s as if its mouth/snout was open when we see some bubbles/spray coming out of it.

At first look, it’s the monster I see. As for something that distracts me, the dark structure on the right of the frame keeps pulling my eyes away from the monster and wondering what was there. It is more pronounced when I open the image to its full size. If I had edited the original photo, I would either have eliminated that or cloned it a bit or even add some soft haze to the dark area.

Hey, Tamar! I recognized this image right off. I think it looks like a sea monster with his tongue hanging out. Nicely seen and captured. I agree that the dark area on the right seems a little distracting.

Hi Tamar! I recognize this nose. Your rework looks great.

(your watermark is a bit distracting, though - maybe if you feel you need it, it could be dialed back a bit)

Tamar, it is quite the monster, spitting water from its mouth and steaming from its far ear. You could crop for a tight view, but I like seeing the surroundings. Dodging the darker area on the right looks good.

I think your repost with the lightening of the dark area on the right works very nicely. This has an air of mystery to it as I see a sea monster making it’s presence known by blowing some hot steam and frothing water.

Tamar, the edit you did worked really well. Perfect adjustment.

Thank you everyone for their feedback.
