The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
I took this image a couple of weeks ago during a trip to Mount Ranier. Wildlife photography is something I do infrequently, and I was not expecting the amount and diversity of wildlife we found at Ranier (marmots, lots of bear, deer , mountain goats…). I couldn’t resist this guy perched on his rock overlooking his domain. I only had a 70-180 lens, but my A7riv has a lot of pixels so I cropped quite a bit.
Specific Feedback
All feedback is welcome.
I could of course crop even more to get the marmot larger, but I wanted this to be an environmental portrait. In fact, I’ve experimented with even wider crops of the image to get more of the valley below.
Technical Details
Sony A7riv with a Tamron 70-180 lens at 180 mm. Processed in Lightroom

Will, this is a great view of the marmot, and his rock and mountain.
There is a lot of dead space to the right of the rocks, so you might consider a closer crop, perhaps to about 1/2 of the large flat rock and tighter on the right. This wouldn’t cut much of the BG mountain out, and there are no unusual things there to really miss.
Nice find!
So great! I wouldn’t crop any more. The space on the right gives a sense of great height because it feels like we’re seeing the valley floor (even if we’re not).
This is a great shot! I’ve been debating which one I like better - I like them all. I do like to see the vastness of the terrain, but you want him to be prominent in the frame too, so I’m thinking I like the one on top the best.
I really like the crops you have in this showing the domain of the marmot king Will. I think your last crop as suggested by Jagdeep is the best one. The mist in the BG sets the crisply clear rocks, mosses and in particular marmot off very nicely. Cool Shot.
