Description

Brazil’s Pantanal
from a small boat in the river

These gorgeous Jabiru storks are huge (5 feet tall, 8 foot wingspan, up to 20# ) and are the largest flying bird in the Americas. They occasionally wander into the US.
This one had a nice fish, but the caiman - always observant - came up behind him and startled him into dropping the fish, which the caiman promptly scooped up.

Hi Sandy, nice behavioral capture with the interaction between the bird and caiman. The stork doesn’t look too happy with the result. This image tells a good story. Exposure on the stork looks good to me with details in the white and black feathers.

Very cool, Sandy. I like the background in this image. It’s probably just the angle of the background, but I’d think about giving this a touch of clockwise rotation.

Beautiful look at the Jabiru, Sandy. And the caiman with the fish is a nice bonus and tells a story.

Hi Sandy
Unfair, (I didn’t think we are allowed to post alien creatures). This photograph is outstanding.
