Though Once Pretty, Now Just a Memory

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

In December, I broke my right wrist, my dominate hand, of course. Yesterday, for the first time I was able to pick up a camera and shoot again. Mind you, it was my lightweight Z50, but still offered me a bit of a challenge as my wrist and hand still hurt like the dickens.

Specific Feedback

I gave the image a bit of a TK Orton effect to over emphasize their dead state. Too much?

Technical Details

Z50, 16-50mm f/6.3, 1/600, ISO 125

I like the effect you got on the blossoms, Chris. I don’t know if this is a static arrangement, but I do find elements of the background a bit distracting, particularly in the corners. A simple artificial background would probably have cleaned that up far easier than doing it in post processing. I hope your wrist heals quickly.
