I was in my rowboat and stop to watch a group of Egrets on a patch of grass between One Mile River and the Back River in Old Lyme Ct. This Egret just left that group.

Canon 7DII, Sigma 150-600mm, F8, 451mm, 1/4000, ISO 400, June 15, 7:31 AM, hand-held. The shot was cropped by 60% in DxO Photo Lab.
I like this a lot, Peter. The lighting really brings out the curves of the wing leading edges and the eye is tack sharp. You could probably bring out more detail in the whites, but I don’t really thing it’s necessary and it’s so easy to end up making them gray when you try to do that. You might think about taking a bit off the left side and adding it to the right, but it looks very good as is.
