I am going back through my open files, that made it through the first passed. This Egret was photographed on Four Mile River, on April 14, at 9:46 AM. Thank you for stopping by.

Technical Details

Canon R5, Canon 100-500mm & 1.4 ext, f9, 560mm, 1/1600, -.7EV, ISO 800. I used control lines to nock down the highlights in the grass and the shot was cropped by 10% into a 16by9, DXO PhotoLab 8.

Excellent handling of the whites, giving good feather detail. I like the look of the head: the eye, green area, and beak really pop. Good capture. Now, about that stick protruding from its rear end . . .

I love the back light on this egret, Peter, especially the way it accentuates the far wing and the beak. Nice find in the archives.

The backlighting is pretty cool especially where it lights up the far wing. Nicely handled whites

Thank you for the comments and Allen I think it is something the Egret eat.
I tried removing it, that is not a strong point in DXO.
