Lucky shot

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This photograph was taken on The Four Mile River, on May11 at 7AM. The Egret was on the far side of the river in beam of light. I was thinking the Egret was to far away for a handheld shot, so when I got home, I was every pleased with this frame.
Thank you for stopping by.

Peter: Luck happens to the well prepared and the skilled. Looks like you had good doses of both at play here. I love the reflection and how the ripples affect it. Very nicely done. >=))>

Hi Peter, I really like the play of light here with the bright highlights from the splash against the dark setting. The reflection and action pose are quite nice too. Well seen and taken.

Really nice contrast on a dark background with the white feathers and yellow/red beak, plus that sharp eye is amazing! Awesome!

Hi Bill, Allen & Tom
Thank you for your kind remarks.
Peter

The water action and the highlights in the water are quite nice and the bill looks lit up as well and the face is sharp. The dark background works well to contrast the light in the water. Good job, Peter.

Excellent, Peter. The light on the water and backlighting of the egret are magical. Well seen and very well executed.

Hi Allen & Dennis
Thank you for your very kind comments.
Peter

Whow! This is a dream of a picture. I won’t repeat all the above positive remarks. Only to add that the back of the bird is not burned out. Quite an achievement given the high contrast in the picture. The hand of the master. Xavier
