Tonsils

Inside of a dying November Rose.

3 image stack ( I started with 9, but less is more sometimes I am learning),
Lots of artifacts, non focus, a lot of stuff wrong and technically a mess to real macro experts,
but I liked it…
All comments appreciated.

A real outside Rose in the neighborhood,
Tripod, a bit of drizzle.

Dan: Looks like you made some nice lemonade here. I don’t stack so won’t comment on that but I like the comp and the POF/DOF you have. Nicely done. >=))>

I’ll be satisfied to echo Bill. I like this as is, warts and all.

I really like the way you treated the center, Dan. The petal on the left really draws my eye due to its brightness-I don’t know if you can burn it a bit and keep it looking natural or not. Given the out of focus bands along the left and right edges, I’d be tempted to crop in from both sides to almost a vertical crop. Very well seen.

Dan, this is a good look at the center of this rose. The scattered drops are a neat addition. Yes, a “true” stack would have everything in the center sharp, however, I believe that one of the options that stacking offers is to limit what’s sharp, which is what you’ve done here. In this case, you could take advantage to add in a shot where the outer petals were not sharp, if you wanted to go that route.
