Too funny, Chris. Great catch of this “ugly duckling”.
Chris, a fine look at this natural scavenger. They’re truly the cleanup hitters in the wild kingdom. Or as actor Gilbert Roland called them; “flying pallbearers”.
We have these circle our area often. I always thought these guys had keen vision to spot their meals on the ground. But apparently it is more of a keener smell ability, up to a half a mile, that lures them to their meals.
They do seem to lack in the good looks department, but those bald skulls are much easier to keep clean when eating carcasses.
Excellent job, Chris. The detail in the vulture is superb and you did a fine job minimizing what could be an extremely distracting background.
And I agree with Dennis with respect to the background. You’ve done a good job here with composition. Looks like this was a difficult exposure.
Well done, given what you had to work with. Looks sharp. Just wonder if you can darken the background further
I spent a long time lightening the BG as it was too dark and tended to swallow up the Vulture.
