Minus 8 deg Celsius last night - this morning the garden birds were all fluffed up. The first is a female Daurian Redstart, the second a Tree Sparrow. Brrr!

I love it when they do that. Feathers are amazing things. Hope things warm up a little for them. That first one is practically circular! You could maybe bring up the exposure in the face a little. I like the way the light catches the edge of the plumage. Nice detail. The second just looks fed up. The clear sky sets it off well.
Nice look at these two birds. Detail is superb. Kristen had some good ideas. I think there is a blue cast in the first image and the blue saturation in the second image can be dropped a tad. But otherwise really nice captures and compositions.
Great shots on both Mike, I didn’t even know they can fluff up like that. Agree with @Kris_Smith , I wish for a little more exposure on the Redstart. Like how you framed him with the branches.
Thanks for the tips, @Kris_Smith and @David_Schoen. I’ve brought up the exposure on the Redstart’s head and removed the blue cast; and the Sparrow’s sky is now less saturated. Both reworks have replaced the originals.
