As a film only photog I do not do any lunar photography beyond a moon as part of a landscape scene.
However, I use the Photographer Ephermeris before every photography outing for sunrise times, positions, angles as well as the same for moon processes.
As a long time user the TPE email provided a link to an in-depth video on the upcoming Full Lunar Eclipse March 3, 2026.

Thanks Paul. I’m planning to go to Joshua Tree fur that night. Every time I try to totally plan something (angles and times), I get frustrated and stymied. This should be more predictable this time,

Best of luck out there, Marylynne.
And I captured it! Clear skies looked scarce but a small airport just south of Death Valley looked good so we raced down and camped under the plane. I got a good result and then composited in the accurate star field.
Diane, I was glad to see and hear all went well. I was not sure if anyone even looked at the link here for the TPE information on the event. I did not get too much into the moon eclipse update but I use the TPE before every outing for my normal filed outings most always for sunrises. However, for the first time in a very long time I’m doing a sunset scene and have already used the TPE for that event coming up.
