The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Very early in January I visited Lofoten before all (other) tourists/photographers had arrived. I had most of the photo spots almost for myself, only being there together with the two other photo tour participants and the tour guide.
This time of the year is the end of the polar night season. We hade indirect light for maybe four hours of “daylight” photography each day (and in the evenings we chased the northern lights).
This naturally shaped stone is situated at the Vikten Beach. Vikten is a small village with about 100 inhabitants. As the story is told, all of them are members of the religious communion Parish of God.
Specific Feedback
Since I have been into grand landscape photography (and not intimate landscape scenes) for only a year, all comments are welcome on what works and what could be improved.
I am specifically interested in the color management.
Technical Details
OM System OM-1 camera, Olympus 12-40 f2.8 pro lens @ 30 mm (60 mm equiv.), ISO 200 (base ISO), f/16, 3.2 sec., tripod, ND filter.
Balancing on a stone in the water, with waves coming in. Hence, not that easy to change the view point towards the right.

Nice one, Ola! I really like the warm colours in the sky against all the cool colours of the shadows, snow, and water. I also really like the texture of the water especially with it’s contrast to the smooth patch in the bottom center.
I might be tempted to bring up the darks in the foreground rocks a little bit (not too much), add a bit of warmth to them (to emphasize and mirror the contrast between warm and cool seen other parts of the image) and then maybe even clone out the darker area of the water right behind it so that they don’t merge into each other. Maybe something like this…
Hi Ola,
This image has a wonderful mix of warm and cool tones throughout and the sky is quite dramatic with those clouds. That is certainly an unusual looking rock formation. The colors look just fine for my tastes. Even though the image has a cold mood to it with all the snow and cool tones I also find it inviting because of the warm tones in both the water and sky. I do like the small tweaks by @Tom_Nevesely as they take an already beautiful image up another notch. Nicely done!
There is so much to love here Ola! I think the color management looks great. The foreground is nicely anchored, with variety and interest even by itself, and I love the way the light flows to the brighter sky. I’d be tempted to emphasize that even more:
