Warm Mists over Tangled Creek

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

On cool mornings, the mists rising off the hot waters in Yellowstone get very dense, which adds to the mystery around many of Yellowstone’s features. This is a look along Tangled Creek as it runs through the Lower Geyser Basin, with the mists strongly lit by the rising sun.

Specific Feedback

I like the sense of depth created by the thickening mistand the zig-zag view along the creek.

Mark - a very intriguing image, with lots of areas of interest. I like the browns and blues offset by the white mist.
It’s hard to tell with an image like this, but I think it needs a bit of CW rotation to straighten the trees . (?)

Lovely, Mark! Nice balance of the blue creek, brown grasses and background trees/steam.

The mist cut out pieces of opposite neutral colors that I like very much. Yellowstone is an inhexhaustible source of ispitation. Beautiful image Mark.

Mark,
I am enjoying the color palette along with the way the stream snakes it’s way through the scene and the mist is the finishing touch as it adds so much mood to the image. Very nicely done!
