Water Break

First, I shoot landscapes, not wildlife, but what’cha gonna do when you have a turkey this close to you?
This Wild Turkey is taking advantage of a small puddle to quench its thirst after a short rain shower. I shot this in Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

What technical feedback would you like if any? ANY, as I mentioned, I’m not a wildlife photographer, but I would love to hear any and all critiques so that I can improve my skills when I do occasionally shoot them.

What artistic feedback would you like if any? ANY and ALL.

Any pertinent technical details: Nikon D820 w/ 80-400 @ 210mm. 1/125 @ f/8, 400 ISO. Gitzo 5 series tripod but head was loose for movement.

Cades Cove is on my list of spring time visits. good shot of a very allusive bird.

Looks crisp and sharp but the background is a bit on the distracting side. Nice photo!
