Description
Thought about titling this and those to follow Wet Dreams but thought better of it. Another from the Lowes Water Gardens. We have a small pond in our back yard but Chrissy hasnāt ventured into planting our own water lilies yet so I just dream about having them right at hand. Oh well, it gives me a good excuse to go back to Lowes and its not far away. >=))>
Specific Feedback
I flipped this horizontally so the lily would ālookā to the right. Satisfies my natural preference for left to right comps. Your thoughts?

Nicely composed, and the flower is gorgeous. I like the dark background water that gives the plants prominence. You might consider darkening the green leaf at the top to sort of match the other leaves.
I love this, Bill. The composition is excellent and I like that you didnāt clean up the blossom. The partially submerged petals are intriguing as well. Very well done.
The lily is in fine shape and I agree with the natural order of left to right compositions since Iām right handed.
The lighting on this is superb, I assume this was under one of the typical Lowes style greenhouses?, or at least under an overcast sky?
Either way, itās a fine image, one to be proud of.
I may have to pay a visit to our local Lowes myself since youāve given me the idea.
Merv: You will have to come to Houston. The garden I go to is coincidentally named Lowes but itās a small mom and pop establishment. Really cool place so youāre welcome to come visit anytime.
Thanks for the clarification about the Lowes you visit.
I think itās great that thereās still mom & pop establishments around!
I went to Lowes yesterday afternoon for some degreaser for use in an ultrasonic cleaning machine, while I was there I discovered that they actually have a small water lily display in their garden section. Unfortunately, what they have is pretty tired looking.
Part of the reason for the display is to demonstrate their plastic ponds and associated equipment that they sell.
Thanks a bunch for the invitation! Ya never know, we may travel that way again, the last time through there was ca 3 years ago.
