Water Dreams

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Thought about titling this and those to follow Wet Dreams but thought better of it. :wink:Another from the Lowes Water Gardens. We have a small pond in our back yard but Chrissy hasn’t ventured into planting our own water lilies yet so I just dream about having them right at hand. Oh well, it gives me a good excuse to go back to Lowes and its not far away. >=))>

Specific Feedback

I flipped this horizontally so the lily would ā€œlookā€ to the right. Satisfies my natural preference for left to right comps. Your thoughts?

Nicely composed, and the flower is gorgeous. I like the dark background water that gives the plants prominence. You might consider darkening the green leaf at the top to sort of match the other leaves.

It’s a fine image, sir!

I love this, Bill. The composition is excellent and I like that you didn’t clean up the blossom. The partially submerged petals are intriguing as well. Very well done.
