Water Dreams II

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Another from the water lily paradise that is Lowes Water Gardens.

Specific Feedback

The BG along the bottom is a little mottled but I didn’t mind it and was too lazy to take it to black. Your thoughts?

You and these water lilies are killing me. So many variations. Your eye for composition knows no rival.

Wow, Bill! :open_mouth:

The lighting and exposure are awesome on this one!
The yellow has a wonderful glow appearance that makes the entire lily pop.
And yep, the composition on this one is tough to top!

Excellent work, Bill!

Please keep these waterlilies coming - every one is just lovely, and they inspire me. None around here - no nursey has a water garden anywhere close. They’d probably bake anyway - it’s 107 in Weaverville today and for the next 3-4 days. And the AC is not hooked up yet with our renovation. AACCKK.
Marvelous colours here, and the contrasts between colours is very compelling. Comp and perspective are perfct.
Your usual fine work.

YIKES…gorgeous image here, Bill. Only thought for change from a less than novice macro/closeup guy like me is to clone out the leaves / lilies poking in on the right using the black water. I assume that’s a legal maneuver in this category?..just a thought for another look and no nits at all on this wonderful scene… :+1: :+1:

Excellent composition, Bill, and I love how the yellow center seems to glow. You might be able to make that even more so with the point color adjustment in LR. It can work a little magic sometimes.

YIKES! Sharpness, detail and colors here are off the charts! The subtle detail at the bottom is not an issue for me – it provides some grounding – but I second @Paul_Breitkreuz’ idea to prune or at least darken the leaves on the right edge. In any case this is total eye candy!!
