Where did she go?

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

A pair of robins were perched on the branch, nestled next each other. Obviously a mom and juvenile.
Mom flew off and ,if there was a bird expression, I would say, where are you going? He flew off after her.

Specific Feedback

I liked the framing and the bird’s head position. I could not get rid of the bright background in the right upper corner.
Any suggestion or comments are welcome.

Technical Details

OM-1 Markll, OM 50-200mm f/2.8. 2.0 teleconverter, f/5.0, 1/1000 sec, ISO6400, 800mm.

Excellent image and a fun story to go with it, Charlie. We rarely see such a fine image of a juvenile robin.

This looks good to me Charlie. A fine pose, nice details, and an interesting perch.

Gorgeous!! The bird is well-posed and has excellent detail, and the BG is simply gorgeous. You could go into quick mask mode and do a linear gradient from the UR corner and using the selection to make a curves adjustment layer you can darken the three channels individually (by pulling down the UR corner of the curve line) to add color of choice. Had to give it a try. This is a mix of all 3 channels.

Thank you all. especially Diane. I like what you did and will try to reproduce it.
Sorry that I didn’t respond earlier. Seems that the emails all went to Spam, which has never happened before.
Thanks for the feedback.

I tried it and it worked just as Diane said it would. No reason for me to repost.
Thanks.
Charlie

Glad it worked! But I’d bet everyone would enjoy the RP – this is such a great place for learning and a good image can almost always be tweaked.
