Which Way?

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Here’s a more conventional view of the ice on my pond emphasizing the shapes created as the ice freezes. Amazingly enough (at least for me) this is a single shot.

Specific Feedback

These often start out with limited contrast. As I increase the contrast, Adobe’s software adds saturation. I’ve dialed that back modestly, but it does add lots of pop to the view.

Technical Details

R5, 180 mm macro, 0.4 s, f/16, iso 800, tripod

Stop the presses, single capture is alive and well in the Seaver realm :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:! Mark, this is just drop dead gorgeous. The geometric patterns and colors are a delightful mix and encourage close scrutiny and delightful exploration. I never tire of your ice images so keep them coming. >=))>

The Ice Man is at it again! I believe this is your best one yet, Mark. This is encouraging that it is a single shot and not a stack. The sharpness is great. It is a delight to view with all the colors and lines in this. I too never tire from viewing your ice images. Keep them coming!

Beautiful ice structure, Mark. The colors underneath it do add a lot of pop to the image. Very well done.

Thats a beautiful abstract …well crafted …

Mark, you’ve had some wonderful images from your pond(s) over the years. This would be at the top of the list I’m sure. Congrats on the EP here for this exceptional abstract image… :+1:
