Wigeon buddies

What technical feedback would you like if any?

Still having trouble getting the images sharp enough. Maybe just the best I can do with my equipment at this range. About 60 feet away and 50% crop

What artistic feedback would you like if any?

Any pertinent technical details:

I see lots of Wigeons and am always looking for the Eurasion. So, felt lucky to get them swimming together.

Hi Carlie. I use the same equipment and I think it should be capable of better focus than this. The foreground water actually looks pretty good, which makes me think that somehow your point of focus was in front of both ducks. Getting two in crisp focus is really tough since ideally you’d like to focus somewhere between them and there isn’t much there to aim at. Can you tell us what Autofocus pattern you were using? That could make a big difference.

I use single point focus.

Well, scratch that theory. I’m not sure what’s going on. Just to determine whether or not it’s the equipment, I’d suggest setting up a target at various distances and use either the two second timer or remote shutter release to run some test shots.

I calibrated the lens when I first got it but, only at 10 and 25 ft. i will re -calibrate it at 50 when I have a chance. I am going to post another picture taken at about the same distance, Hard to remember exactly where when I take a bunch of pictures. It appears to be a lot sharper… See what you think.
Thanks
