Wistful

Critique Style Requested: Standard

Description

We have a single wisteria in our garden that we’ve had about 10 years or so. After the first freeze Chrissy cuts it all the way back to the trunk with no vegetation. The first things to appear in the spring are the flower buds which quickly bloom to maturity as these two are and then the leaves follow shortly thereafter. The biomass that this plant puts out in a season is incredible and it grows remarkably fast. The light falling on these two bunches spilling over the top of the fence really caught my eye yesterday morning. Almost made me late for work. I thought it was a worthy endeavor.>=))>

Specific Feedback

At first I tried a dark vignette which was OK but I liked the effect of the lighter one better. Had to include a part of the trellis in the LRC but I don’t think it’s too much of a distraction. Your thoughts?

I think your composition works very well, Bill, and the white vignette works very nicely.

I worked with a guy who made the mistake of planting one of these to grow up a 4x4 support for a second floor balcony. It didn’t take very many years to crush that 4x4, though he did get another support in and removed the wisteria before the balcony could collapse.

Excellent image.

Gorgeous, with your usual incredible (lickable) light! I love the variable colors of the blooms where they are in the shade. I’ve been trying to photograph this stuff for years and have never come close to being happy with it. I’m inspired to keep trying.
