In April you can find trilliums and bleeding hearts in Northwest lowland forests. well worth the hunt. Needed to get to ground level and take a series of focus distances that almost worked just right.

Dick, this is a fine collection of forest wild flowers. It’s special that you could get both in full bloom and sharp in the same frame. You’ve also got a nice glow in the leaves to contrast with the color in the flowers.
Very familiar scene: trillium in the early summer in our mountains. The composition, with bleeding hearts works well. My only suggestion is to capture this image on a cloudy misty or even a rainy day, to soften the contrasts. We have lots of those gray days here, and the flowers love it
