Woods Web

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Was driving through Funks Grove, in central Illinois, when I saw this web about 50 feet or so off of the road. I had to shoot from my car through the passenger window. (not able to walk closer)
Wanted to capture the web with the light mostly from behind it.

Specific Feedback

I selected this image from about 20 I took. I liked this image because of the leaves showing from behind the web. Not sure if it is the right choice.

Technical Details

Canon R10, RF 24-240mm F-4/6.3 @ 240mm f-6.3 ISO 6400

What a coincidence - I took a similar photo earlier in the month. When the light does this, spider webs become art. I rather like the leaves behind the web since it adds an element of depth. The rest of the bg is far enough away and dark enough to show everything off well. Looks a bit soft, but it works (big crop maybe?). Well seen and good job getting it if you couldn’t walk closer.

Thank you for your kind words. It was frustrating not to be able to get closer. There seems to be a web in this area every year.
