Technical Details

Canon R5, Canon 100-500mm & 1.4Ext, f10, 700m, -.7EV, 1/1600, ISO 2000. The shot is cropped by around 60% and I used some control lines and points to reduce the highlight in the background, in DXO PhotoLab 8.

Peter, this is really nice. I always enjoy face on shots of birds, so this is extra special to me. They have quite the wingspan. The BG is oof enough to make him stand out from it, yet in focus enough to see his environment somewhat. Love his wing position. Looks like he is floating in air.

This does look like it’s warning something off, Peter. I really like the flight position and the angle you got. You might tone down or remove the bright orange blob on the right edge. A fine image.

Wow, excellent! Sweet face-on image and nice wing position. I’d suggest a pano crop to avoid the dead space above and below.
You could also brighten up the left eye, so it’s more easily seen.
Very cool!

Hi Shirley, Dennis & Sandy
Thank you for your comments, here is a repost with changes.

I really like this revised capture. If it were mine, I’d take a look at selecting and darkening the BG some to make the subject pop even more. Fine image!

Hi Dave
Thank you for the comment, believe it or not I already did some of that.
Peter

Great head on look at this intense bird Peter. I like your edits.

Love the flight position of this Osprey Peter! Great open beak and wing position. Nicely done!

The pano crop works well. Detail looks great front to back and I like the pose and that the Osprey is coming at the viewer.

Hi Ed, Kurt & Allen
Thank you for the comments.
