I am just a little late with this, but I wanted to add a year-end post. I’ve been more opportunistic than anything this year. I don’t feel like I progressed much, but I have some good memories with these images. I was pleased to get what I did. I hope to spend more time here in 2025!
The dark image is best if viewed at the larger size once it loads. It is glow worms in New Zealand. Many of the other pictures were from the same trip, but a few were taken locally. No particular order.

A variety of settings here, but all taken on my Sony A7C and processed in Capture One.
Karla, this is a fine collections of photos with a large variety of subjects, all are excellent. I’m especially attracted to the little blue mushroom and how midwesterern the windmill against the aurora feels.
Thanks, @Mark_Seaver. I got caught up with the mushrooms and was kind of ignoring the mountains. My goal with local aurora was to get something iconic to farm country. I’m glad that came across.
Thanks for your kind comments, @Jim_Gavin. I think the koala ended up to be my favorite of the trip. We had such a short time to try to see them that I was really happy to come away with this.
