Photographic journey through 2025

Image(s)

Image Description

This is a little photographic journey through my year. Kicking of with maybe the only day of snow this year and dancing trees to cherry blossoms in Spring, a trip to the Spanish badlands and coast in early summer, the first time I managed to capture fireflies in Germany in late June, mud cracks after some weeks of draught in summer, aerial views of glacial rivers in Iceland in September and last but not least misty woodland scenes from Madeira in November. Fingers crossed that maybe a day of snow is yet to come in Dezember

Pertinent Technical Details

one is a drone shot, both images from Spain are stitched panoramas and the firefly image is a stacked image from about 350 single frames.

Ronja, this is a lovely collection! The opening scene feels like modern dance with the two trees surrounded in white. The cherry blossom view is magical because of its brightness. I’ve tried a few times for firefly photos, without success, mixing them with the nice view into the woods does a fine job of putting me right there, enjoying.

What an amazing set of images, and with so much variety. Very well done! My favourite image is the glacial rivers.

Gorgeous images, Ronja. I’m particularly struck with the Badlands image with the awesome topography and that glorious sky. I also really love the misty woodland with those lovely old tree trunks.

Amazing set of images with an eclectic mix of subjects.

That first one is so melancholy - the trees seem to be saying a tearful goodbye - excellently evocative. The fireflies look fantastic, too, and is that a deer stand? The badlands landscape is so precisely of that area…and those clouds - what a bonus. Excellent collection of work.

Hi Ronja,
These images are quite lovely and are a wonderful mix of subjects. I find the first image to be very striking as the two trees seem to be embracing. My second favorite is of the fireflies as they have all but disappeared where I live. I am lucky if I see half a dozen over the warmer summer months. Great work!

What a collection! I love them all, although not having any true fireflies (we have bioluminescent beetles) I am mesmerised by that image.

Beautiful work Ronja.

You had a most amazing year Ronja, These are spectacular. I love them all, but the 4th, 6th, and last really sing some beautiful music. Merry Christmas!

Beautiful work, Ronja. The fireflies are so great! Hoping you get some snow.
