A Bit of This, A Bit of That

Image Description

I feel like I’ve been all over the map this year (and last year, too, for that matter). From straight-ahead actual landscape photos to created landscapes, and back again.

Those are pretty amazing images and shows off the span of your vision/imagination…akin to a yoga instructor able to stretch beyond limits. I’m still cramping up this year! Well done Bonnie, thank you for the inspiration!!!

You may have been all over the map, Bonnie, but you sure covered and captured some stunning images.

Bonnie, I marvel at your images. I can look at these over and over. @Keith_Flood captures my feelings about the images here. The diversity displays your skill, and your vision in deeply seeing is amazing. You demonstrate that seeing and vision is internal, based on emotion and feeling way beyond just looking at your subjects.
As I’ve said before, I really learn from your images. Thanks for these.

Are you pleased with that?

There are many fine images here. I particularly like Yellowstone Mud.

Bonnie, these are a diverse set of images that are really unlike any others posted in the year end challenge. I particularly like the plum blossoms and Yellowstone mud images. Thank you for posting them

A fine display of the range and scope of your vision. Very creative stuff

I’m always fascinated by, and love, just how unique of an eye you have Bonnie. This is a truly wonderful collection that supports that. Being a landscape guy I just adore that first one, but they are all amazing. Congrats on a great year, and looking forward to what you come up with next year.

Totally amazing and wonderful – each one of them!! They completely mess with my mind (in the best sort of way). Creative vision at its best. I can’t wait to see the next one, and the one after that, and… and… and…

… and @Keith_Flood – good to see you back here! Hope you’ll find time to hang out here a bit!

Thank you, @Keith_Flood, @linda_mellor, @Larry_Greenbaum, @Igor_Doncov, @WillR, @Michael_Lowe, @John_Williams, and @Diane_Miller for your kind words! And thank you, and everyone at NPN, for the great advice this past year. I truly appreciate it!

LOL - why not throw caution to the wind and see what happens? And we’d love to see some more of your work here. How about some of your underwater work? That would be interesting.

Perhaps - my usual emotion when spotting something that interests me is “that’s cool!” or beautiful, etc. I’m not consciously trying to convey an emotion, but maybe that just comes out without my thinking about it.

I haven’t decided. I look at your work and admire your consistent vision. Your photographic works feel like a cohesive whole. Somewhere in my mind that seems like a good goal to have - to make a cohesive body of work. OTOH, why do that? I’m not trying to make a living on my photography, so why not do whatever I feel like at the moment. I shall continue to be a photographic dilettante.

I did want to put something in for all tastes! :grinning: That one was from a morning spent wandering around in a swampy backwater of the Owens River down by Lone Pine.

Bonnie,

An amazing eclectic compilation of photographic art. Refreshing to look at and inspiring to attempt. I love the rain drop reflections, incredible vision. That Yellowstone mud photo is just other worldly, as well as the Grand Prismatic Spring photo, that is just the next level of excellence. Its okay to be everywhere, because what you produce moves viewers, and that is the point of making art, right?

It’s been a pleasure to watch your development as a photographer over the years, Bonnie. You see things the rest of us miss. Keep it up.

Bonnie, this is a great (and nicely diverse) set of images, with a good mix of real and created. That picnic table is particularly striking. The plum blossum and the Bubbles constructs are especially enjoyable. As a wetlands fan, I find the willows in the water very comforting.

Wow, Bonnie, what an excellent collection. I love all of these. The mud splash, the picnic table in the dark, Plum Blossoms, Bubbles, they are all works of art. You’ve really developed an artistic style and flare with your photography. Nice work. Happy New Year.

This is a very interesting collection. I admire your creativity. I think my favorites are the first and last ones, but I really enjoy the lines and color in the plum one as well.

Love these Bonnie! I was drawn to one in particular and then noticed it was titles “Whiskeytown”. My wife grew up in Weaverville. Whiskeytown is a favorite place to visit when we come see family. Beautiful image!

Some of us have trouble settling into a defined path. I applaud you for following your creative instincts. Very good work. Stay all over the map.

Thank you @Sandy_Richards-Brown, @Youssef_Ismail, @Don_Peter,s @Mark_Seaver, @Ed_William,s @karlag, @Paul_Holdorf, and @ed15 for your appreciation and encouragement.

Oh, I love Weaverville. It’s very cute, if a bit down on its heels. Have you visited the Highland Art or Main Street Galleries there? They’re wonderful spaces; I periodically have work there.

I may have in the last 14 years, but I am not sure! I’ll check them out next time I’m in town. Yes, Weaverville needs a little pick-me-up, doesn’t it?
