Description
On the edge of the world, the cormorant claimed its place beneath the sun, drying its wings in anticipation of flight. Poised on a jagged rock, the bird stands ready against the bright sky, embracing the moment before it takes to the air.

Excellent job handling the whites on the backlit bird, Saundie. I could see taking a little off the right side of the frame, but that’s a matter of taste. I like the pose and the craggy rock .
Hi Saundie, a nice pose and great perch. Nice details. Love seeing these different Australian birds. Agree with taking some off the right. A fine image either way.
Neat looking bird and the whites are handled well. I agree with cropping from the right; it might give a better feel for the bird about to take off into the space on the left.
