A Rose in black and white

I am working on black and white conversions today. This one was done in LR.

Those color sliders are super fun! I put a little split tone on the highlights on this one.

Any commentary fair game.

Cheers!

I am from the days of B&W, so I do appreciate it very much. I like the tones, shapes and lines in this. Looks like you did a great job converting.

Kathy: I don’t do much B&W but I know what I like when I see it and this looks good to me. Just the right amount of contrast and really nice detail. Well done. >=))>

Hi Shirley
Thank you. I had a darkroom for many years. When I do black and white, I can still smell the fixer! I loved that smell!

Excellent choice to convert this to b&w. Wonderful image.

Kathy.
This is really fabulous. We are now so used to looking at color photos so when a nice B&W can be a reminder of the good old days. The contrast here is just perfect. Well done! A minor suggestion is to clone out the 2 extra stems at the base of the flower.

B&W conversion done well with just the right tones. Beautiful flower with nice details.
