Abstract in Blue and Gold

I made this image hand-held from a speeding car at the tail end of one hell of thunderstorm near sundown. I have four or five images taken at the same time that I flagged to work on, but they’ve sat around for almost a year until I stumbled on them last week. Aside from denoise, a little colour balance and changing the aspect ratio to 16:9, I really didn’t have to do anything particularly radical in post. These kind of abstract images are so much a matter of personal taste but I’d be very interested in your impressions.

I really like the subtlety and feel of this image. I’m very soothed by it. Well done.

Gorgeous, Kerry. The kind of sunset I would love to drive into or better yet be sitting on my porch watching. Beautiful!

Beautiful cloudscape, Kerry. Love the warm/cool tones too.

I love cloudscapes and this one is gorgeous and dramatic! I love the small details in the larger version.

Has a painterly feel to it and I love how you’ve composed it, Kerry. Excellent!

I love this capture. The color schema works very well here and the black frame gives it an elegance. I agree with @Mike_Friel. It does have a painterly look to it.

@David_Bostock , @linda_mellor , @Harley_Goldman , @Diane_Miller , @Mike_Friel , @Igor_Doncov - Thanks all. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. This all came about for being on the road, stuck in a car with nothing to do in the middle of a thunderstorm. Go figure.
