Balon, it looks like he was putting on a show for you. I love the colors of the BG and the leaf he is on. It makes him stand out nicely. Had you not told the story I would have probably wished the fly was not in the image, but after reading your comments it is a part of what is happening, and you have it enough out of focus that it is all about the Jumping Spider. I wish more of him was in focus, but when we get in close to tiny little critters like this the DOF is very shallow, as in this case with f22. The eyes are nice and sharp, and that is what matters most. Good lighting.

I really like the angle and composition and your focus was perfect, Balan. Very well done.

Balan: Just a superbly crafted image of a very interesting subject. I like the selective focus and what you achieved here. Most excellent. >=))>

Balan, like Shirley said, the red/orange color combination looks great. Your spider looks like it’s contemplating something…flying away, like you said.

They are ravenous little dudes aren’t they? I’ve watched one do the same thing - suck a fly dry, drop it and move into hunting mode for more. I love ballooning spiders and have only caught the behavior once with the camera. Well controlled lighting and you have good angles and OOF stuff to frame the main attraction.
