This is just so cool Chris. I’m not sure what it is exactly, but your title is so appropriate. I love your choice of DOF and focal points. The pale greens against the darker BG are great. I might think about using some blur on the two or three semi focused leaves in the ULC to place more emphasis on the head and tentacles. . .

Love it!! ET!!!
2 white specks in the upper left could go…

A great angle on an unrolling fern, Chris. I don’t think I’ve ever looked at one from that angle and it makes a very interesting image. I like the way the leaves in the upper left lead into the subject, but for me it does create a slight imbalance in the image. If you’re not set on a square format, a little of the right would take care of that imbalance.

Wonderful!! It’s fantastic you saw this, and then did a great job photographing and presenting it! I love fern leaves but I’ve never seen one even close to this interesting.

Ooooh! Ferny goodness! This is fabulous. Intriguing and delicate and just slightly odd even though I know perfectly well what it is. There’s just enough clarity in the front that I am absorbed. The bg does look a bit off being so much darker though and i’m not sure you need to go that far given how blurry it is. And, if I may be so bold, the stem on the left isn’t adding anything for. me. Cropping it away might be a way to strengthen the image. Fantastic find!

@Diane_Miller @SandyR-B @Dennis_Plank @Kris_Smith @Ed_Williams Thank you all for your valuable suggestions!

The most beautiful thing about photography, I find, is that, by looking through your lens, you see things that other people don’t see… and then you take the photo and make them see it!
You did that with this ‘Alien’ - who else but you saw this alien whle walking past?

Best wishes, Ingrid.

That is so true. I’m so glad I’ve learned to “see.”

What a neat find, Chris. I would have probably missed seeing this. Nice EP.

@Shirley_Freeman Thanks.
