The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
The crow let me get close, so I was able to get some detail and I liked the setting. I had planned to post this before the recent discussion, but I guess this is a landscape with a bird in it. I’ve taken enough portrait/ID shots of birds that I’m looking for larger, environmental type scenes with a bird in it.
Specific Feedback
Any thoughts appreciated.

I like this one, Allan. Even though the crow itself is pretty centered, the bulk of the old stump puts enough weight on the right to make it work and the crow still has plenty of room to move into due to the looseness of the crop. Nicely done.
I really like this. And, I really like the idea of increasing the habitat size of bird images. I seem to be gravitating that way. (Maybe I just can’t get close enough anymore!) I was thinking the same thing…A landscape with a bird in it, or a bird in a landscape?
Anyway, this is great. Gorgeous colours of browns and blues with the subject standing out so well. I like how the bird’s head is above the horizon line.
I know crows are everywhere, but I never think of them as being beach birds, so I really like the additional allure of the larger scene. The feathers are glossy and have lots of detail, which is nice as is the pose. The waves crashing behind gives a lot of depth to a nearly empty scene and helps the bird and its perch have so much more presence and grounding. Excellent!
Hi Allen
I love the framing, photographing a Crow and getting any detail is tuff. Verything works here the blue sky, beach sand and tree stump. Nixce work.
