The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Another image from my session with bees in the Solidago a week ago. It’s been a very busy time, but I found a few minutes to process this one this morning.

Specific Feedback

When viewing the full size image, does the bee look too big? I brought up the darkest areas until there were just a few scattered black spots-did it work or did I go too far?

Technical Details

Sony A7Rv, FE 70-200 f/4 macro @ 200 mm, hand held, f/16, 1/250, iso 1600. Processed in LR & PS CC. Cropped to 3440x4400. Taken July 20th at 12:34 PM under hazy skies.

Hi Dennis,

The bumblebee is nice and sharp with a pose. The large view shows off the details very well. I would drop the saturation of the yellows slightly as they are on the edge of maximum saturation in the goldenrod flowers. Just a minor nit that goldenrod flowers cause with their vivid colors. Well done…Jim

Beautiful catch with wonderful detail! I think the tight crop makes the bee look appropriately big.

I might consider reducing the BG at the top a bit more, or even a crop from the top. Let the bee steal the show!

Dennis: Ditto what @Diane_Miller said. The bee is rendered perfectly so let it be the uncontested star. Good work. >=))>

Thanks @Bill_Fach @Diane_Miller @Jim_Zablotny. Please see the repost with your suggestions more or less incorporated.

That does it for me!!
