I just returned from a photography trip to Reelfoot Lake, a cypress swamp in northwest Tennessee. We saw several bald eagles there. Here is one taking off.

Any thoughts on composition on these?
I notice the background on the posted images is somewhat pixelated which is not present in the original files. These were not large crops.

Wonderful!! You held onto great tonal detail on the undersides of these dark birds – not easy to pull off! I wouldn’t have noticed any posterization – there may be a little in the clouds, almost certainly from JPEG compression. I’d bet it would disappear on a larger file (exported at a higher “quality” setting) but I doubt anyone would ever notice it even here. The birds are so eye-popping who would see anything in the sky!
These work very nicely, Allen. I do like the first two with the perch as stand alone images, but the third fits nicely as part of the series. To my eye, the whites look just a bit gray-I think you could push them a bit further and still retain that nice feather detail.
