Description

Taken from a car seat I was confined to during my son and my Arizona insect expedition. This was at 9,000 feet up Mount Graham in SE Arizona.

Specific Feedback

Not sure about the DOF here. There are a lot of OOF insects working on this same bush. Any comments are welcomed.

Technical Details

Canon R5, f18, 1/1600s, iso 2500, 100-500+1.4TC at 420 mm. Cropped to vertical from landscape.

Ed, you got some nice details of this bee on the beautiful flowers, especially considering you were taking the photo from your car. I like that the little grasshopper is sharp enough to show his cute little face as he photo bombs the shot. Nice.

Ed: The photo bomber caught my eye and looks like he’s grinning for the camera while the bee is oblivious. Good DOF choice IMO and great details on the bee. Well done.>=))>

Thank you @Shirley_Freeman and @Bill_Fach. I think the extra bug that has photo bombed this image is some kind of true bug, like a seed bug or mirid. I think it is the top side that shows markings like a smile. That plant was loaded with bugs.

Ed, your crop sets out the bee very well. The Rabbitbrush adds good warmth and tells the story well. The grinning interloper is a fun find. The background does look noisy, but that expected at iso 2500.
