Between showers

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

My neighbor has a flower garden filled with beautiful subjects. After a heavy rain storm I went over to the garden with the hope of getting shots with rain drops on the plants. Was able to take several frames before the next storm came through.

Specific Feedback

Is it appealing, should the crop be tighter. I was attracted to the rain drops on the green stems.
Should I have cropped them out?

I like this as posted, John. Despite the beauty of the flowers, the drops are the star of this show. Your choice of depth of field worked very well here.

Thank you for your comments.

John: With subjects like this it’s hard to know where to crop. Faced with this same scene I would probably tilt the camera up a bit and have more flowers and less stem but that’s personal taste and this does work for me as is. The drops are indeed the stars of the show as @Dennis_Plank mentioned and they are rendered very nicely. Well done. >=))>
