The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
This series of birds were taken last week on the Island of Oahu at the Ko Olina Resort. A very good friend of our invited us to share her condominium. What a beautiful place. The birds were cool too. We didn’t spot too many different species, but did spot several new birds for my wife and I. What was interesting to me was the birds were plentiful and really liked the nicely manicured grassy areas. This series was all taken on the first morning we were there.
Specific Feedback
Some of the birds were easier to get close to than others. I tried to give them all some space to work with. I hope it is not too much space. Thanks for taking a look and for any recommendations or comments you would grace me with.

Nice shots, Ed. Focus and low viewpoint worked on all of these. I do wish the second weren’t hopping away from you, but it does show the red patch that gives it its name. (P.S. from the Hawaii Invasive Species Council on this species: “Cost $300,000 in damages to orchids per year on Oahu.”
I might crop the Spotted Dove a bit more closely but I’m fine with the framing on the rest of the images.
I think the cropping and spacing is okay. I get frustrated sometimes when folks crop too far in. A little space is a good thing.
One suggestion would be to get lower if you can, thus allowing the backdrop of the bird to fade away and take advantage of a wide open aperture. You see that a bit with the 2nd and 4th bird.
Thank you @Dennis_Plank, @TonyBaldasaro, @peter, @Allen_Sparks and @SandyR-B. Dennis, I did a slightly different angle on that dove with a tighter crop, that I was considering posting later. Tony, I agree with you on the Myna and the Waxbill on getting a lower angle. What is interesting on the waxbill is it was on the side of a berm about eye level with the camera, but the slope of the berm really gives it an angled look with the head downhill. With my age and weight I find it difficult to get down too low sometimes, well, not getting down, but getting back up . . . .
I’ve spent a fair amount of time in Hawaii, mostly on the big island And some on kuaui. Only one trip to Oahu and only one trip to Maui… Yes, there are a lot of birds there and they like the grass and I find that difficult as a perch Area. Anyhow, if you’re lucky, you can catch him in a tree.
